Today was a pain in the *** I had a bunch of immature children flood my site from Slashdot and post that stupid gnaa stuff. When will these children grow up? I spent about ½ and hour deleting their posts and doing an IP ban on them, yes I know they probably are on dynamic IP, that is why I put a notice in the 403.shtml file explaining why said IP is banned from my web site. I could, if I wanted to, do a reverse nslookup and report to their provided their activities but that would take to much time, and is not worth it, and I doubt that their providers would really care, since many of them were coming out of Mexico.

update, do to all the crap flooding I had to globaly turn off all comment posting to my site, What the fuck do these children think they are going to do by doing this, other getting hated.

can you ban entire networks? I ran into some problems once on a site and was trying to figure out how to just ban entire countries because they had no need to see the web site I had created...

Don't know. It might be nice, many of these children are using IP's in Mexico. If I could I would IP ban Mexico. I have banned almost 100 IPs tonight, that is just sad.

This this [maxmind.com] may be helpfull... IT is an IP lookup, but since you already know that part...

So might ARIN [arin.net] which keep the registry for the whois database.

this site [globalone.no] lists which org ownes the IPs it administers. So you can probably get to the bottom of the situation with entire subnet bans on any south american country.

I use WPBlacklist for WordPress, the blogging system I use on my site, and it has stopped all the spam from ever reaching the website. Well worth looking into.

I will have to look into it, I wonder if I can integrate it into bblog, right now I am doing an IP ban on all of them as they post. It is getting frustrating I have had to go though 189 posts. This is just getting ridiculous. I know that most of them are dynamic, but I also think some of them are just zombie boxes that have been "hxored" by some "31337" (NOT!!! really a kiddy scripter) All I need to do I think is find the boss zombie and IP ban that, if I am right it will stop it, I hope and pray. Most providers would care because they are concerned with abuse of the network and not abuse on the network. If ISPs kicked of every user that some twit on the internet thought was a jerk/asshole/troll, there would be 7 people on the internet.
