I just finished metamoderating, and I was wondering... why do we meta funny/unfunny posts? If they don't affect karma, and if humor is so subjective, why do we bother?

It affects the moderator

Even though Funny doesn't affect the karma of the poster, if someone is regularly metamodded as "Unfunny", the M2 causes the moderator to lose "favor" - whatever you choose to call the moderating point distributor - and cannot moderate as often; thus, saving the world from the tyranny of poor humor.

Funny still affects the post's score. If a post is modded funny, then more people are likely to see it. The moderation system is used for more than just karma.
