A friend told me about HalfBakery.com. Dedicated to "half-baked" ideas, it may be an interesting read.

For example, Teflon toothpaste to keep your teeth clean, transparent hair dye to look bald and still keep the brain from freezing, and of course a DVD rewinder.

Some ideas are silly, some make you think twice. And, they let you comment on it. It's like Slashdot, only without the typos. :)
