Journal shadowbearer's Journal: karma and posting time limits 5

If one has > karma, your between post times go up.

Shouldn't this be the other way around?

Shouldn't those who've shown that they can think "on their feet" so to speak, be able to post faster; while those who don't have the karma/posting ability should have to think about their responses longer?

Is this some kind of politically correct "Let's make everyone equal despite their abilities" thing?

  Mod this journal comment troll/flamebait.

First journal, for me. Don't really GAF, it's Friday night :)

Ahhhh, the whole doggone thing is screwed up. I just got mod points for the second time in a week and I simply went back to what has now become my established procedure. I use 'em all up on JE comments and the final screens of front page stories. After all, if you look at threds, almost all the mods go to the first half of the first screen of the high-profile stories.
Beyond that they get used up in "M$ is evil" and other local biases. Now don't get me wrong, as far as I'm concerned, M$ *is* evil, Li

    • LOL. I have to agree. I can't remember the last time I saw a front page without the "eligible for MetaModeration" on it :) Mod points seem to appear when I'm least able to use them cogently (tired, etc). Must be Murphy's Law at work.

I use my mod points on science stories and things where I can at least understand the material fairly thoroughly. I stay away from the Microsoft/SCO stories, they're already crowded with mods busy handing out funnies and trolls.

Personally I'd prefer it if entire articles

Most days I suspect it's a synonym for "obsessor" ;-)

        • Oh, fer chrissakes, I have mod points again.

I'm this close to just setting my pref to not willing to mod...

Sheezus. This is like 4 times in the last 6 weeks.

If they're going to grant privileges to those of us with more or less permanently high karma, I can think of a few more useful priv's than frequent mod points.
I thought for a while that mod points were granted on other basis. I can't imagine why they get granted now. D'oh.

          gah....
