(please scroll down for english version) "Ruhestoerung Festivalkultur und Gesellschaft Heute stellt sich das Festival strukturell als eine Organisation dar, deren Funktion es ist, die unterschiedlichsten technischen Beduerfnisse der Gesellschaft zu befriedigen. Das Festival stellt die auf den neuesten Stand gebrachten (technischen) Instrumente zur Verfuegung, um die Organisation der Herrschaft einer Klasse ueber die anderen Klassen weiter auszubauen. Der so ausgebaute, potenzierte technologische Apparat kann endlich an die Stelle des "Terrors" in der Baendigung der zentrifugalen gesellschaftlichen Kraefte treten und gibt der Klasse, die ueber ihn verfuegt, eine immense Ueberlegenheit ueber den Rest der Gesellschaft. Das Festival als Herrschaftsinstrument Das Festival ist ein Klasseninstrument. Auf ideologischer Ebene hat es die Aufgabe, eine bestimmte Ideologie zu produzieren und zu vermitteln, jene der herrschenden Klasse, die sie aber als aufgeklaerte Kunst praesentiert, und Verhaltensweisen - bestimmte Verhaltensweisen - der herrschenden Klasse, die sie aber als notwendig und universell darstellt. Festival und Unterdrueckung Manchmal aber genuegen die technischen Instrumente nicht, um den Status quo aufrechtzuerhalten. Das ist dann der Fall, wenn nichtintegrierte Gruppen das ruhige, manipulierte kulturpolitische Universum stoeren. Auf den Festivals wird den Produzentinnen das Recht verweigert, sich zu grundsaetzlichen (oder weniger wichtigen) Problemen der nationalen und internationalen Politik zu aeuszern. Unterdrueckung und Gewalt bilden in unserer Gesellschaft ein zusammenhaengendes Geflecht. Aber wir stellen die Hypothese auf, dasz es noch eine konkrete Moeglichkeit gibt, dieses reife kapitalistische System durch neue Formen des inneren und aeuszeren (lokalen und transnationalen) Klassenkampfes radikal umzustuelpen. Wir propagieren die Idee eines negativen Festivals, das innerhalb des offiziellen Festivals, aber in Widerspruch zu ihm, die Notwendigkeiten eines theoretischen, kritischen und dialektischen Denkens begruendet. Ein Denken, das das, was die Marktschreier Utopie nennen, entlarvt und so die Voraussetzungen fuer eine politische, kreative, antagonistische und alternative Arbeit schafft. Politischer Protest Nur der Umsturz des Staates wird eine reale Umstrukturierung des Kultursystems moeglich machen. Der Produzent musz daher - ueber seinen aktuellen Status hinaus - in einer langfristigen Perspektive an der Herausbildung (Stimulierung) einer revolutionaeren Bewegung der unteren Klassen arbeiten, die sich eine dem neuen Kampftypus angemessene organisatorische Form gibt. Wir haben das negative Festival als den Ort bestimmt, der Politik und die kritische Analyse der Wendung kuenstlerischer Medien integriert, Medien, wie sie sonst von der Schicht der Funktionaere der herrschenden Klasse auf unserem Festival propagiert werden. Einem kapitalistischen Gebrauch der Kunst musz man einen sozialistischen Gebrauch der entwickeltesten Techniken und Methoden gegenueberstellen. Formen des ideologischen Protestes Der ideologische Protest drueckt sich in unterschiedlichen Formen aus: a) Gegenveranstaltungen und weiszes Rauschen. Die Gegenveranstaltungen finden in der Regel zur selben Zeit statt wie die offiziellen Veranstaltungen, sie behandeln den kuenstlerisch-sozialen Stoff und versuchen, wenn es fuer opportun gehalten wird, den offiziellen Veranstaltungen das gesamte Publikum zu entziehen. b) Gegenausstellungen: organischere Formen des Protests mit weniger unmittellbaren und spektakulaeren Zielen; sie bestehen in einer bewuszteren und gruendlicheren politischen Sozialisation der bereits sensibilisierten Produzentinnen. Gewerkschaftlicher Protest Schlieszlich moechten wir anmerken, dasz unser Interesse fuer die Bewegung keinesfalls ihre Ueberbewertung einschlieszt. Unserer Meinung nach koennen die Produzentinnen in keiner Weise als eine "Klasse" angesehen werden, deren Interessen objektiv und potentiell dem herrschenden oekonomisch-sozialen System gegenueber antagonistisch sind. Wir sehen deshalb das Festival zwar als ein Kampfzentrum an, aber es ist nicht das einzige und nicht das wesentlichste; das Festival sollte aber auch nicht unterbewertet werden, da auf ihm die vom Kapital programmierte Nivellierung Gestalt annimmt. Eine Art, sich gegen diese Nivellierung zu wehren, ist der Versuch, mit den von uns herausgefundenen Instrumenten potentiell antagonistische Kraefte (Antiprofessionisten) entgegen ihrer technokratischen Karriere zu uns herueberzuziehen, um sie, nicht nur voruebergehend, an die Seite anderer antagonistischer Kraefte in unserer Gesellschaft zu stellen. Aus diesem Grund verfolgen wir das Projekt eines negativen Festivals, das an den auszerinstitutionellen Festivals in neuer Form jene revolutionaere Tendenz ausdrueckt, die unsere Gesellschaft von der Vorgeschichte zur Geschichte fuehren kann. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disturbance Festival Culture and Society Today the festival structurally presents itself as an organization whose function is to satisfy the most different technical needs of the society. The festival places the (technical) instruments brought on the newest state to the disposal to develop the organization of the dominion of a class about the other classes. At last the so developed, multiplied technological machine can step to the place of "terrorism" in control of the centrifugal social forces and gives to the class which owns it an immense superiority about the rest of the society. The Festival as an Instrument of Power The festival is a class instrument. At an ideological level it has the task to produce a certain ideology and to mediate, the one of the ruling class which presents it, however, as postmodern art, and behaviors - certain behaviors - to the ruling class, which represents them, as necessary and universal ones. Festival and Oppression Sometimes, however, the technical instruments are not enough to maintain the status quo. This is the case when non-integrated groups disturb the quiet, manipulated politico-cultural universe. At the festivals to producers the right is refused to talk about fundamental (or less important) problems of national and international politics. Oppression and violence form a coherent network in our society. But we set up the hypothesis, that there is still a specific possibility to radically turn inside out this ripe capitalist system by new forms of class conflict, inside and outside (local and transnational). We propagate the idea of a negative festival, which within the official festival, but in opposition to him, founds necessities of a theoretical, critical and dialectic thinking. A thinking, that exposes what the barkers name utopia, that creates the presuppositions for a political, creative, antagonistic and alternative work. Political Protest Only the putsch of the state will make possible a real restructuring of the culture system. The producer must therefore - about his current status out - work in a long-term perspective on the developing (stimulation) of a revolutionary movement of the lower classes which presents itself an organizational form appropriate to the new battle type. We have determined the negative festival as the place, where politics and the critical analysis of the idiom of artistic media are integrated, the media how they are propagated, otherwise, by the shift of the officials of the ruling class at our festival. One must confrontate a socialist use of the developed colleges of technology and methods with a capitalist use of the arts. Forms of Ideological Protest The ideological protest expresses itself in different forms: a) Counterarrangements and white noise. The counterarrangements usually take place at the same time like the official arrangements, they treat the artistic-social material and try if it is held for opportunely to take away the whole public from the official arrangements. b) Counterexhibitions: more organic forms of the protest with less direct and spectacular aims; they consist in more consciously and more thorough political socialisation of the already sensitized producers. Union Protest Finally we would like to mark, that our interest in the movement in no case includes its overrating. In our opinion the producers can be respected in no way as a "class" whose interests are objectively and potentially opposite and antagonistically to the ruling economic-social system. Therefore we look at the festival, certainly, as a battle centre, but it is not the single and not the most essential one; however, festivals should also not be undervalued, because at them the leveling programmed by the capital accepts form. A sort to resist against this leveling is the attempt to get potentially antagonistic forces (antiprofessionalists) against their technocratic career on our side by using the instruments found out by us, to place them, not only temporarily, on the side of other antagonistic forces in our society. That's why we pursue the project of a negative festival which expresses this revolutionary tendency in the non-instituional festivals in new form which can lead our society of the previous story to history."
