    • It's well deserved. Just in case you're wondering why, Knoppix is exactly what I was looking for (which is odd, cause I didn't even know what I was looking for).

        the only problem I'm having with knoppix is getting my embedded soundcard to work.
        Works under mandrake just fine but not knoppix
        modprobe sees and loads the modules.
        I suspect a permissions problem (I've had that problem before under debian) but i don't have time to track it down.

        Good luck with the learning. It's worth it even if you don't decide to use linux for a workstation.

    PS -- I really like Knoppix too. Wrote a review of it a while back, as I recall. :)
