So, who thought that an article on whether IT matters wouldn't cause a storm on /.

All of a sudden all the die hard sysadmins fight for their jobs, despite the realisation that in the scheme of things they matter about as much as a janitor these days - without them, all businesses would fall apart, but they aren't thought of as something that matters. Or at least not until "the internet" breaks, at which point they should have been there yesterday, in readiness for said breakage.

I'm not bitter.
