Journal mahonri5's Journal: Memories from the past

So, today I get asked, "How long have you been reading slashdot?" After some thought, (calculate: orbit of the moon +/- years since high school) turns out since 1997.
So when I get home, I decide to dig out the old back-up CDs from the pre-mission computer. Digging through things I find my old (very insecure) password file.

well, I guess one should mention that after not using a computer for any practical purposes (besides email in libraries) for 2 years, one figures that slashdot has killed his account, (and since he thought his nick was dorky and so like, 9th grade) once arriving home, makes a new one.
How was I supposed to know? (besides FAQs)

So I see if I can log back in. Behold, the old me!. Dang, that's a low user number(82570).
Now I say, 'I want my old account with the new name!'. But I doubt that's going to happen. Oh well, the things you learn.
Maybe someone will understand this epiphany.
