Journal turgid's Journal: Xerox - My Final Rant 5

OK, it's not my rant, someone else has done much better that I ever could. It's the US-centric view.

I don't care so much any more since my former colleagues are now finding new and better jobs elsewhere, but I really do think that people should know how workers are being treated and how investors' money is being used.

      The funny thing is, Ursula and her cronies have set my old site a completely crazy, unachievable deadline to produce some new gear soon and they're going to visit in person to see it.

      I wish I could be there to see the looks on their faces when they see the empty desks and the complete lack of anything they asked for...

      Actually, that's not fair. The empty desks have been filled by inexperienced Indians in their early 20s who don't know which end of a compiler to hold and aren't getting any sleep.

    What is going to really suck for Xerox and their shareholders is when they change management/direction no-one is going to want to work for them.

    Personally I have a job interview tomorrow. Which given this is a good thing

      Exactly. And it's going to take senior management a few more months to realise that the direction needs to change. The troops on the ground already know that important deadlines are going to slip severely, so it goes.

        Thanks, interview went well. One person on panel seemed to vary between frantically scribbling notes about some ideas I had, seeming interested and then not being engaged at all. The other two's attention I seemed to hold well. Covered the ground well I thought.

        It may not help, new government has promulgated a freeze on hiring barring exceptions (which this section may be in which is why I choose for it's strategic exconomic importance) and a public service restructure which will be announced Friday. An
