pshempel's Journal: Training your Out Sourcer!

Have you had one of those feelings that were mixed in how you wanted to deal with a situation? Well I have had one of those for the last six months. I work for a very large Italian company that decided to sell the technologies department to an even larger US company. The large company has decided to also "consolidate" most of the US locations as well as many of its overseas locations.
I work out of one of those US locations, which in fact is the largest of the tech spaces.
We were told at first that most of us would not need to worry about our positions, especially those of us with tenure.
Well about 6 months ago we were told something a little different, only ten percent of us would make it.
Now the even larger company has had me training the systems support from overseas. I have had this mixed feeling during all of this time, wanting to do my best and wanting to just do nothing.
Somewhat of a difficult situation to be in!
Now my time is coming to an end and in a couple of weeks I will be on my own and continuing my job hunt.
It has felt like I have been handing the bullets to my executioner that had none!
