  • That's a very positive review, and it made me at least glance at the MacBook Air's price again.

    Nope, still can't afford it. :)

    One thing I was surprised to hear is that the external superdrive will only work with MacBook Airs, as it needs an above-spec USB port. On the plus-side, I guess, your USB port is extra brawny.

      Honestly, I can't find anything that special about the USB port in the MBA. I've looked and looked and cannot find anything that justifies why the Superdrive only works with the MBA.

      I am still quite happy with this little laptop though.

  • If the MacBook Air had a firewire port, it would be perfect. I didn't spot the one I looked at last week. It is otherwise an awesome piece of kit.

    So I'll have to just stick with my 12in G4 PowerBook - it's more or less just as portable, but it also can connect to my video camera.
