A Hawaiian surfer has published a paper with the title An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Everything[PDF Warning!] that is now up for review. As a result, he has stunned physicists who seem to be mixed about his paper. Interestingly enough, he feels that E8 is at the heart of the universe and how physics works in reality.

And I gotta say, wow. Probably half (or a little more) of it is way over my head, but the way I understand it is that this mathematical bit of perfection (which, when drawn, reminds me starkly of the flower of life [wikipedia.org]) could possibly map out field unification. If this is the case, we're now just steps away from mastering gravity, among other things.

It even implies all of this can be tested!
