Otter's Journal: Coolest molecule ever

I think this one even beats palytoxin: fullerene inside porphyrin. OK, maybe it's a complex, not a molecule, I have no idea. Anyway, details.

what would happen

if the coolest molecule made the coolest comment of the day? would we enter a new era of coolness? or would the universe be destroyed?

Honestly, I barely read the comments on science articles. I'll post if I know something about the subject or to link the original paper, but seeing someone's hard work ripped by dullards with no interest in anything besides complaining about stem cells, patents and creationists is just too depressing.

i knew a stem cell that was a creationist and he was granted a patent for creating universes within a 7 day time frame. i hate that guy.

OK, so one can imagine it, but now *make* it. :-) It is a cool molecule and may even be stable (I suspect it would be from the looks of it), but what it would be good for and how one would make it are other stories...

The paper describes a synthesis, doesn't it? I can't get the JACS link to work, though, so don't know for sure. What it's good for, I have no idea.
