SmellsLike's Journal: Learning how to ride a bicycle

Pen and I went to the park behind the unit on Saturday to continue my learning of bike-riding. Using the new bike Pen got me for my birthday made things easier. I was going up and down a section of the bike-trail that went slightly downhill. I whizzed down the trail while applying the wrong brake and nearly falling. I got Pen to ride back up but the balance was getting better.

On Sunday morning I could actually get on both pedals and go. Pretty amazing. I still used the breaks alot going downhill. The speed was scary! I also pulled over when someone was coming up the path. I still can't do a u-turn too which means I have to get off and turn the bike around. Got used to adjusting my position in the seat while riding too.

I'm still zig-zagging though which is a little frustrating. I'm also mainly squeezing the handlebars too hard too. I can change up and down gears which is easier than I thought. Pen jogged along with me too and gave me great encouragement. Hopefully I'll ride some more tonight to get more used to it.
