Journal jlguenego's Journal: QWERTY and unicode characters

I am French, and using a QWERTY keyboard. How to write characters like é, à, etc. and how to write specific unicode characters ?

I am not the only one to have this problems. All European people using a US keyboard have the same.
So I decided to solve it and I designed a keyboard with the following properties:

- do not modify at all the US QWERTY keyboard layout (like the us-international one), but extend it.
- to have very simple shortcut that respect the sign written on the keyboard.
- to reach the maximum of Unicode characters.

I did it for Windows at this time. My keyboard layout is free and can be downloaded at http://www.jlg-utilities.com

Now, if I have an accent to do with my keyboard, I just do the following:

é = CTRL + ' then e
à = CTRL + ` then a
Å = CTRL + 0 then A ...

The first 685 unicode characters can be reached.
My keyboard layout allows to reach more than 1000 unicode characters.

Please try it and send me your comment or suggestion.
