[Solicitation] Personal Financial Mgmt Software?

  • Though I don't know whether it prints out checks. QuickBooks is more advanced, used mostly for small business, but I know you can print and cut checks with it.
  • We use it and my wife loves it. Works great, integrates easily with TurboTax, and once you start printing checks you won't go back. So, can't offer any alternatives but I can endorse Quicken.
  • It works fine. As an extra special bonus I can download my account history from my bank's website straight into Quicken. I appreciate that convenience. (Just don't tell my mom that my idea of "balancing my checkbook" is downloading my account history every 3 months.)
    • Most/many investment houses will let you download account history, too.

      I've used Quicken and MS Money at various times (though neither now - on purpose).
      As already mentioned, Quicken has the advantage of integrating seamlessly with TurboTax. Moreover, it comes in a MAC flavor (I don't know that Money doesn't, but I doubt it). Finally, it is a more PLEASANT user interface.
