Philip K Dickhead's Journal: Michelin and Dean Kamen Team up to End Tire Punctures

Enter the "Tweel" - the next generation of tires. Billed dramatically as "the first tire innovation for a century", the Tweel was designed by Michelin for Dean Kamen of Segway fame. They are "airless" and invulnerable to puncture and most wear. A pair of these made their public debut at the Philadelphia Car show, and many images are now available to gawk at.

I just bought a set of tires, and the noise difference between the two is significant. The whole car vibrates less as well. So I wonder if these are more rigid, and worse for noise and vibration.

Might be great for the Segway, but at 60 MPH, I wonder.
