Birds

Birds are said to be the direct offspring of dinosaurs. Dinosaurs extincted, but birds survived.

When the Ice Age arrived, birds were able to fly from cold countries to warm ones. Birds were small enough so they didn't have to have lots of preys. In the age few animals only survived, it must have worked well.
