  • Going home this weekend, to NE OH. No one's really going to be around (weddings, errata) so it'll just be me and my parents with my brother and his new lady friend about. I might go to the Airshow. I might not. It'll be my first time back in a few months.

Had to switch my cellphone # because my condo has this intercom box out front, right? And so you hit my name and it will call my number. Well I had a Ballmer AC and that was long distance. So I had to get it switched over to a MoCo regional (either t
    • Yeah, the brats next door and the rest of the kids around the 'hood are all back in school.

They start back to school so early these days...it's weird.

      But eh, whatever.

School bus cut me off yesterday. That was fun. I had to slam on my breaks to avoid the stupid fucker.

That is life, I guess. If I were thinking a bit quicker on my feet, I would have called the bus depot or whatever and written down the number to get that idiot fired.

These are the days of our lives.

Take some time off dude. And you know, chi

  • Well, nothing new really. The weekend I hope to hunker down with some college football. Finalize some details for an upcoming trip I am hoping to take, and maybe just putter around the house. The weekend typically would be for yard work, but since last night was our first rain in about 3 weeks, the yard doesn't need anything.
  • ...Why the blazes /. have gone and stuck loads of extra Javascript stuff into their pages, stuff that makes IE6 throw up 2-3 error dialogs every time I scroll up or down the page. :(

And you wonder why I'm not on here much these days?

Maybe it's to get people to finally dump IE and switch to something better [mozilla.com]. If they really wanted to make that point, though, they should've done something like this [alfter.us] instead. :-)

Then again, the simplest explanation is often the truth, and the simplest explanation is that IE is a bug-ridden, insecure POS.

I'd feel a lot more comfortable recommending Firefox were it not so shoddy itself. Seriously, how hard is it to write a decent browser? I'm fairly convinced that the mozilla coders are just plain inept.

IE is a bug-ridden, insecure POS.

You'll get no disagreement from me there...

      • Actually, I'm leaning more towards it being down to Taco & Co. doing their usual release-straight-to-production approach to the site coding. :P

  • i am just going to have a relaxing weekend, going home thursday to see my little sister and my mom. i am going to read "Pragmatic Programmer" and maybe C S Lewis's "Hideous Strength." Will be a relaxing time seeing family, riding bicycle, and eating good cooking. And who knows, I may get lucky and find myself a nicer vehicle while there (I've been looking for something and haven't found anything yet, maybe I'm too picky.)
  • but i'm hoping to get some work done. that would be nice. i have been getting stuff done though so i see no reason why that might change.

i can feel change is in the air. i can feel that things are in motion. i can not tell exactly what is moving, but it feels like it's for the better.
