I was listening to the radio recently, and I just realized that the station has been classifying as "oldies" the music that was new as I was growing up.

That's just so wrong.

  • I've heard music on the 'Oldies' station that is clearly from the early 80s. Hey! I don't think so! Just 6 years ago, they were playing nearly constant Elvis. I think they're modernizing their playlist a little too quickly.
  • ...until you get to the point where the music that your kids listened to while growing up appears on the oldies station. ;-)
  • Everything older than 10 yrs is an oldie, everything older than 20 yrs a classic. That's radio-talk nowadays, not like it used to be.
