* As a native Californian (have only live outside this state for three months - just long enough to earn enough to come home) this is just too cool.
1959 - Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, flees Tibet and travels to India.
* I loved the movie Golden Child and find the strong belief in the Dalai Lama's reincarnations fascinating.

My SO's birthday is on St. Patty's day; she hates when people get her green stuff, but I like it since I can remember the date easily. My oldest is exactly one month earlier, and my youngest was born on the 4th of July. It is man heaven I tell ya!
