Journal cyranoVR's Journal: Explanations 7
I read Slashdot journals during my evening commute, which is why I don't usually reply to stuff. I use Plucker to download three pages of journal.pl?op=friendview&uid=[myuid] to my Tungsten E2.
Right now I have a pretty interesting stimulating job, so I don't really surf at work. At my old job, I often would think "hmmm...I wonder what people have posted on their journals" and go make comments for an hour. Now, it doesn't occur to me.
Arguing about politics or "philosophy" (more accurately described as "ethics") is a waste of time, in my opinion, online. Even moreso when you're trying to converse with boorish types who are fond of stock phrases such as "you've missed the point."
Also, I've been fencing three nights a week, so I usually don't have time/energy to sit down, fire up the laptop, and post comments / JEs.
I've seen some posts the effect of "the Slashdot JE circle is dying." Big deal. There is a whole word out there besides Slashdot. Very few people on slashdot write anything interesting as neurobashing or deadprogrammer
