Well, those who read main page know firefox hit 75 million DLs. browser trends tend to indicate that the rise in firefox usage is primarly due to 'small' oems etc, who rather than have to install a ton of costly spyware/av programs ship the systems with 'basic' free ones, and to avoid complaints 'remove' IE from the desktop/menus and install and configure firefox instead. I figured this out based on http://dir.yahoo.com/Computers_and_Internet/Software/Internet/World_Wide_Web/Browsers/Browser_Usage_Statistics/ those sources. It looks like mainly IE 5.5 users (eg: older win 9x users) are moving to firefox, probably due to 'buying' new pre-loaded winXP systems set up by small shops that can't afford to deal with a million 'free' spyware support visits.
