In Eugene, Oregon, there is a law, similar to Godwin's law:
As a mixed-political-views discussion grows longer, the probability of someone saying "But Canada is better than the U.S. when it comes to civil rights!" or "Canada's universal health care is great!" approaches one.
If you think Canada is a good model for either civil rights, or heath care, I give you this.
Sure, that's only one example, but most people who think the U.S. is an example of a country with poor health care practices or common civil/human rights violations can usually only provide one or two examples as well.
