I like this so far. I agree with many of your issues you bring up, and others I never really thought of as a problem (I thought it was just a quirk that I had or a "that's not a bug, that's a feature!" kind of thing).

I hope that this makes its way into having some sort of inspiration to Linus and his team.

Glad you like it! I've always wanted to get some of these thoughts down on (virtual) paper, but the sheer amount of time it takes has always been discouraging. The ability to add adsense to a site is what finally pushed me over the edge to *do* something.

Don't think things will be over after this series completes next week, however. After this, you'll see a less strenuous article or two (but filled with some great links and wonderful information), then I'll jump right back into providing more concepts. I'l

Seems I'm learning something new as well. I was unaware that "Instalment" was valid! Must be a Britishism. Well, there's only one way to resolve this:
