I like this so far. I agree with many of your issues you bring up, and others I never really thought of as a problem (I thought it was just a quirk that I had or a "that's not a bug, that's a feature!" kind of thing).
I hope that this makes its way into having some sort of inspiration to Linus and his team.
Glad you like it! I've always wanted to get some of these thoughts down on (virtual) paper, but the sheer amount of time it takes has always been discouraging. The ability to add adsense to a site is what finally pushed me over the edge to *do* something.
Don't think things will be over after this series completes next week, however. After this, you'll see a less strenuous article or two (but filled with some great links and wonderful information), then I'll jump right back into providing more concepts. I'l
Sure. I just posted a reply to your reply of my reply to your reply of my reply to your reply. How's that? (FYi, this is one of my favorite games, so I'm quite good at it.;-))
Honestly, I just cannot wait for the next episode of this series.
That's good to hear! I'm glad my concepts are not falling on deaf ears.

I only noticed because I've been checking out your user page daily for quite some time in the hope that you'll have posted Part 4 of your essay. How's it coming on?:-)
Once per week, my friend, once per week. Any more than that and I'll keel over from no sleep.;-)
It looks like Slashdot's Slash code has finally been updated. It was somewhat bothersome to be told that 5 minutes had to separate each successful posting of a comment
I think AC posts are now counted collectively. i.e. Two minutes between ea

Seems I'm learning something new as well. I was unaware that "Instalment" was valid! Must be a Britishism. Well, there's only one way to resolve this:
