'Twas announced earlier today that the Canadian staging of Live 8 will be held at Park Place (aka Molson Park) in Barrie, Ont. Good, I say. The farther away from Toronto the better.

Why, you may ask? They also announced the line up of performers today. Bryan Adams, Celine Dion, Tragically Hip, Simple Plan, Sam Roberts, and the list goes on. The last thing this city needs is another shitty concert. We already have the Rolling Stones and U2 playing numerous dates in September. I think Toronto will be suffering enough in the months to come.

What exactly is Bob Geldof's motive here? "Send more money to Africa, or I'll organize a shitty concert every year?"

Bah. Let the students and unemployed bums enjoy the anti-G8 rhetoric. The rest of us will be busy at work. At least I will be. I have to pay for my Dream Theater tickets somehow...
