discovered yesterday that I am pretty much fucked in my quest for dual citizenship. You CAN apply for citizenship after living in england for 5 years BUT the last year has to have been free of any time constraint. A work permit is a time constraint! So that last year has to be lived in "indefinite leave to remain" status. To get that status you have to be a rich business man basically. And be able to prove you have invested 200k to your english business in the 4 year period or something. bullshit. Only other option is marriage. Guess we'll see what happens next year on this day! I had no idea my work permit ran out on may 2006! I thought it was 2007. I am still in shock, time flies.
