Maybe it is also time for us to rethink what is "politically-correct". I think, over the years, the religious folks have been given more rights than the non-believers. They can pray in front of non-believers, regardless of their feeling. They can publicly express their faith - wearing religious costumes, accessories, etc., while on the other hand, non-believers, who claim in the presence of religious folks that "God" does not exist, are deemed to be rude. Hasn't the time come that we should hear more of the voice of the non-believers?

+ - Contact lenses could stream data across wearer's f->

zorazora writes "“Researchers have taken a major step towards the Terminator-style streaming of real-time information across a person’s field of vision.”
According to the researchers who are working on this project, the lenses can overlay computer generated vision information into the wearer’s vision field. As a result, the lenses can potentially replace the computer screen. We can read emails, watch movies on the vision field delivered by these lenses.
“Right now, the lens contains only a single pixel – but the team says it’s a proof-of-concept for the creation of lenses with multiple pixels.”"

I would love to try out this model. I had much faith in Android device before, but now I am actually turned away by the frustrations I had with the Dell Streak 7. The next device I am going to buy is an iPod.

"Copying is in their blood it seems." -- This sounds rather offensive. Among all the qualities that separate us from animals Patent Law is sitting at the very top. You must understand that in that country, the higher end of the infrastructure is very much lagging behind. I expect more understanding and helping hands, and at the same time less cynical opinions from people living in a well developed country.

Their study is very interesting and may have some value. What is lacking in the report is first of all the initiative - Why electromagnetic spectrum given that there are so many energy sources out there to be harnessed; and secondly thorough analysis on its potential interruption on the communication channel.

+ - Harness electromagnetic wave for energy-> 2

Submitted by zorazora
zorazora writes "A team of researchers at Georgia Tech has found a way to harness electromagnetic wave for energy.
"Tentzeris and his team of researchers, including IEEE members Rushi Vyas and Vasileios Lakafosis, have created a self-powered sensor that relies on an ultrawideband antenna to capture energy from the 100 megahertz and greater frequencies generated by all those systems. The scavenged energy is converted from AC to DC, and then stored in a capacitor that gradually fills until the sensor is fully charged. The team has used the antenna to power a number of sensors, including sensors that detect heat and humidity, as well as biosensors that monitor physiological changes in humans. And Tentzeris says that as the technology advances, it has the potential to charge other devices.""
