Actually you may be the exception because most MBAs are idiots. Many MBA have unreal expectations about how fast they should get promoted and thus leave. I prefer to hire MSEE or PHDs before MBA's because they stick around when making a low 6 figure salary with pension. The MBA's loose site about value and start to nickel and dimming the design. Many times in the predesign process they will say you can't do something because it cost too much. This intern kills the future product and thus innovation stops except for simple concepts which for the most part you will find 5 other companies doing the same thing. By the way I think you missed the big picture and its companies like GM that don't have careers for engineers. Your promotions at GM stop at director or VP level(Note: Levels are different than banking)

Oh well at least they can rant a rave about how america gave aways this technology to the EU. Southwest quietly updated their act of God list a few weeks ago to include mechanical problems with the other horrors of an angry travel god. From the article: "Robert Mann, an airline industry analyst based in Port Washington, NY, called it 'surprising' that Southwest, which has a reputation for stellar customer service, would make a change that puts passengers at a legal disadvantage if an aircraft breakdown delays their travel. Keeping a fleet mechanically sound 'is certainly within the control of any airline,' Mann said. 'Putting mechanical issues in the same category as an act of God — I don't think that's what God intended.'"

First idiots with MBA make twice as much in 4 years than most engineers. Pay for the average engineer tops out after just 8 years. That's even with a masters degree so maybe that's why they need this plan. Students aren't stuppid why should they waste a career/lifetime for a dead end job. Sure one out of a hundred engineers make it to the big time but the vast majority retire making only 30% more than a new grad. So don't study engineering/CS because your are just cattle for the real players.
