While M$ was busy threatening Red Hat with patent lawsuits, Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst was claiming M$'s beleaguered Vista OS as the end of "planned source":
the proprietary, "top-down, planned" software development model characteristic of closed source companies is coming to an end--one which is demonstrated by the number of bugs in Vista
The usual free software advantages and organization are cited as the reason free software works as well as it does. Greed is not a good bet these days.
