Journal twitter's Journal: Minorities and Corn Growers Rise Against Google-Yahoo.

A Microsoft funded PR firm is backing an odd collection of "community" groups against cooperation between Google and Yahoo. If Justice is blind, they should have a hard time blocking anything.

The 16 groups wrote to Assistant Attorney General General Thomas Barnett, warning that such mega-mergers usually work to the detriment of consumers and minority groups. It was Barnett who warned that European antitrust action against Microsoft might chill innovation and discourage competition.

Let's see if some big American companies are more equal than others. In the mean time, people who actually live in the country or grow corn or belong to any of the other groups who's representation is claimed might want to write Barnett themselves to let him know what people outside Madison avenue think about these things.
