Can we please stop refereing to Linux as if it's an Operating System!? We properly call Apple's Operating System OS X and their mobile variant iOS. We don't call it Darwin now do we? Come on guys! Get it right. This affects RHEL, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Arch, CRUX, etc, etc and anyone else that happens to use the GNU TLS Software in question. Which brings me to another point... What is the software here that's actually affected? gnupgp?
a) Linux IS NOT an OS. b) I run CRUX/Linux as my primary Desktop c) I have been using Linux-based OS(es) as my primary Desktop and Development platform for over 12 years.
I completely agree with a lot of the comments. Privacy, Tracking, Spying, Monitoring are BIG SERIOUS problems in the world today (and have been for al long time!) It's important that we fight this to the end and ensure the privacy, security of our lives, data and personal identities.
Unfortunately developer communities can tend to get rather hostile. It only takes a few hostile folks to tarnish an entire community. Python is a classic example as well.
Since when did being open and free to all become the problem here?
I'm Vision Impaired and like many other Vision Impaired Persons around the world that probably used to enjoy using Apple mobile products with iOS 7 are probably in the same boat as me. The latest iOS 7 with the visual cues removed, bevels, edges just make for a very awful UI experience overall. It's so bad I'm actually moving away from Apple (at least their iPhone/iPad mobile products) and considering Android (since 4.2+ now includes zoom/magnification accessibility).
Microsoft will just silently re-add the missing features later on when all this has died down.
