stuckinphp (1598797) writes "Firefox/Chrome phone home to Google with an incriminating cookie that can be linked to your IP. The cookie contains a user ID and a machine ID which is used for updating safe browsing, this can be matched to an IP and therefore you. Google paranoia sure, but Google will have to pass this information over if a court order warrants them to. — Is not sending the version number enough?"
