I often joke that Apple is the Combine, the Universal Union from Half-Life 2 instead of the Borg. Why?
Well, they look cooler. Better design. There's the weird belonging thing. And there's whole transhuman aspect of owning an iPhone; You Become More Than You Were. Plus the people on the tech support phone line carry the title of "Advisor".
Full disclosure: I am an iPhoner. There are many like it, but this one is mine. I nicknamed it Stormbringer, for its power and soul-snatching capabilities (my own and many friends who covet the damn thing.

An anonymous reader writes "I am currently looking to move from text editing with vim to a full fledged IDE with gdb integration, integrated command line, etc. Extending VIM with these capabilities is a mortal sin, so I am looking for a linux based GUI IDE. I do not want to give up the efficient text editing capabilities of VIM though. How do I have my cake and eat it too?"

University of Utah research professor of geophysics Robert Smith led four separate studies that verify a plume of hot and molten rock at least 410 miles deep that rises at an angle from the northwest."
