I am the newly elected Communication Chair of the 39th District Republicans.
So like, I say stuff, and stuff.
My primary job is to aid communication between the members, between the county party and us, and from us to the public. So I'll be doing mailing lists, letters to the editor, press releases, that sort of thing.

Personally I don't know I'd want to get involved much beyond being a PCO. Unfortunately my current precinct has an old party-hack type PCO who likely won't give the spot up unless she moves or dies. (I could run against her I suppose but I don't want the position that badly)

The wild thing is that, right now, it looks like that'll be the race. Hillary's already campaining, and while there are a lot of Democrats who know better than to nominate her, they won't be able to resist if the Republicans nominate Condi (which is already being actively discussed).

When I first joined the MA GOP some years ago, I was registered independent. But I wanted to have some impact, to get involved, so I picked the major party closest to my beliefs and got involved. And I hope others do too. I knew nothing when I got started, which is the main reason I post this stuff: to demystify the process a bit, so others might want to get involved too.
