For those wondering, in the race for WA governor, Dino Rossi (R) is still trailing Christine Gregoire (D), with less than 500,000 ballots left to count, by 4,000 votes.

Not that it means much, but Rossi was down by as much as 16,000 votes earlier Friday, and has closed in.

I've been watching it like a hawk. I check the www.vote.wa.gov site _Extremely_ often. The gap has closed to 4000, from the 18,000 it closed at when they finished counting Seattle. Apparently, most of the last minute absentee ballets came in today (Fri) as well. Maybe by Monday we will have the first Republican Govornor since the 70's :-D

I voted for him, but I didn't think he might actually win. What are the recount provisions? I assume there will be an automatic one.

There's an automatic recount if the difference is less than 2,000 AND less than 0.5%. Right now it is the latter (less than 0.4%), but not the former (4,001).
