Yesterday, a former giant's reign was permanently laid to rest. It was long over and we'd all just assumed it was going to happen eventually, so the long overdue announcement was no surprise. It lasted a lot longer than many thought it would.

Am I talking about Fidel Castro, or HD-DVD?

I was leaning blu-ray for various reasons [miguelito.org] and am glad the "war" is over. Hopefully HD movies will become more standard the economies of scale can kick in to help drop prices.

As for Castro.. took long enough.
