Hm. I just noticed, from the YouTube "debate", Dennis Kucinich saying:

... if our Constitution really means what it says, that all are created equal, if it really means what it says, that there should be equality of opportunity before the law, then our brothers and sisters who happen to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender should have the same rights accorded to them as anyone else, and that includes the ability to have a civil marriage ceremony.

But our Constitution does not say either one of those things. Therfore, according to Dennis Kucinich, our gay "brothers and sisters" should not have the ability to be married.

He should have said that United States Declaration of Independence. It states the following:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. [wikipedia.org]

That document mere gives a hearty FSCK you to the British while stating the we "hold these truths to be self-evident." It never stated that we were "granted these self-evident truths," merely that everyone

Actually, that's exactly right. There's equality: Every adult can get married to a member of the opposite sex, as long as you are not already married - it applies equally to everyone, so there's no problem.

Just because certain people don't want to marry a person of the opposite sex does not mean their rights are being violated.
