Can someone find me President Bush, or anyone else in his administration, ever saying Iraq was one of the countries that attacked us on 9/11?

And I will not accept simply juxtaposing Iraq with al Qaeda, comparing them as equivalent or similar threats. That is not the same thing. You can argue that Bush meant to make an implication to that effect, but I will disagree, so don't bother. I want an actual unequivical statement, not what you think is an implication.

Also unacceptable is a quote of someone saying that Iraq and al Qaeda worked together, with Atta meeting Iraqi officials in Prague, and so forth. That is a recitation of intelligence data, it is not an analysis that therefore Iraq had something to do with 9/11. Even if al Qaeda and Iraq did share intelligence, even if they did some training or weapons sales or anything else of that sort, it does not stand to reason that therefore Iraq had anything to do with 9/11.

I think no such statement exists. Prove me wrong.

      Was Hussein making himself look foolish when his intelligence service fed him a stream of reports of contacts with Al Qaeda representatives to keep him updated on their "relationship" (the regime's own word for it), or when he had pictures painted showing his beaming figure next to the burning twin towers?

      Of course. I was wrong about that Sabo amendment, and I discovered that and told you. And I was going to mention it in the discussion, until you demanded that I do so, while yourself refusing to correct your own error. You corrected your error, and then I corrected mine.

  • Iraq wasn't involved with 911 -- and I really don't believe that connection was ever made or even attempted to be made.

    But 911 was involved with Iraq.

    Sigh...

    I just typed about 3 or 4 pages with of text to back this up. It's just not worth it. Either people already know and understand the reasons why we took out Iraq or they refuse to look at or outright dismiss the facts. Why waste my breath.
