Journal pudge's Journal: I'm Gonna Get Me a Shotgun and Kill All the Whiteys I See 15

So this black activist, Kamau Kambon, thinks the white man wants to kill off the black man. Alrighty.

He talks at about 3:33:00 into the four-hour stream. That's where the quotes from the article are from, like the ones where he says the white man should be exterminated. He was serious too: I thought maybe it was a silly Bill Bennett-like intellectual exercise. But nope, he meant it.

A few hours earlier in the stream, at 0:34:30, he talked too, and was even crazier: he actually said: "I have a new book that was just published, and it's entitled: 'A Secret Letter Smuggled Out of America to the Chairman of North Korea.' And the purpose of this book is to explain that we need a external ally outside of the shores of this country. And we need a external ally that has supreme power and nuclear capability."

Combining that with his later comment that "we have to exterminate white people off the face of the planet," and it's clear this guy is pretty sick.

He's been a visiting professor at NCSU since 2003. I think his time there is probably at an end. He may even end up in jail for his clear calls for genocide.

    Are you kidding?

He's going to become the Poet Laureate of New Jersey ;)
    • ... or at least offered a weekly column in the NY Times.

No liberal, despite how wacky, are going to have any repercussions for what they say. Neither will any minority. How many years did Malcolm X, and now Louis Farrakhan, blame all of societies ills on whites and jews?

      • Remind me who it is that's ever taken Louis "Caucasian Aliens Abducted my Cat" Farrakhan seriously, liberal or conservative?
        • The Nation of Islam takes ol' Calypso Louie pretty seriously.
          • See, I'd characterize the Nation of Islam as neither liberal nor conservative. Regardless of what they self-label as, they fit best in the box labled "absolutely fucking insane".

If he wants to stay in academia, I'm sure UC Boulder could find some space for the maggot in its "ethnic studies" department. He'd fit right in there.

I wasn't aware that he claimed an ethnicity that wasn't his...

... like say, a white guy claiming to be a Native American.

  • After all, his calls for genocide and hate speech are protected by the First Amendment (which has become a double-standard measuring stick anyway). As long as he doesn't say anything that would even hint about God, he'll be given plenty of airtime. And that sucks.

    • Well, you could consider it as agitating against the government and fomenting revolt, since after all the vast majority of senators, representatives, federal judges and the executive branch ARE white.

But that would be rather a stretch since he's not specifically referring to the government, even if it would ultimately be part of his "plan".
  • ... if the wicked scientist Yacub drained the souls and pigmentation from our ancestors and taught us the secrets of Tricknology.

It's a reference to Nation of Islam teachings. Search for the word Yacub. [csusm.edu]
    • Wow. That’s some wacky shit. I figured that must be a troll, but a quick bit of searching gives me the impression that the Nation of Islam really teaches that. Huh. Wild. Almost as far gone as Scientology.

  • What really matters is whether or not people take him seriously. From time to time, it's probably a good thing to have nonsense like this get out there so people realize or remember that thinking like this exists. I see it as an opportunity to renew our efforts to work with each other instead of against each other over what amounts to superficial differences.

But I'm getting mighty sick of having wingnuts thrust into the public consciousness in the interest of "balance" that bring nothing to the table an

  • He’s done nothing wrong.

He is wrong, but has done nothing wrong (that I know of, of course).

I know nothing of him other than what I just read in your JE, but from that he sounds Shit Throwing Crazy. Fortunately, that’s not a crime. Black racists are no better and no worse than white racists. The KKK has every right to spew their idiocy, and so do these asshats. They have no right to do anyone harm, but idiocy such as theirs needs a public airing so that the public can see for themselves what ign
    • On any university campus, talk of exterminating black people by a white person would be grounds for termination (facilty, even tenured) or expulsion (students). Even such hate speech *off* campus, if reported to university officials would be good enough.

(Gathered through anecdote, at least two "student handbooks" in my possession, and for the more remote-control inclined check out the "Bullshit!" College episode in season three.)
