Journal pudge's Journal: Memo to Witnesses 3

Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) and Wade Henderson (Exec. Director of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights) are both testifying in the Senate that Roberts would basically abolish civil rights as we know them today.

Psst: no one is buying it. Not even the Democratic Senators.

I don't get where Roberts would do that at all.

Heck I don't even get where Thomas or Scalia would do that.

Yeah. It's pretty crazy. I dunno.

The funny thing is Thomas would be the MOST likely one to do it. :-)
    • Come on...

      Everyone knows Republicans:

Were the ones who blocked Title VII (oh, wait...)

Were the ones who kept schools segregated in the South (oh, wait...)

Who seceeded from the Union to protect a business model based on slavery (oh, wait...)

That never appoint blacks to prominent positions like Secretary of State or the Supreme Court (oh, wait...)

BTW, as an aside, Roberts testimony, what little I've seen, has really impressed me. The dude is smart and sharp. Excellent choice.

Overflow on /dev/null, please empty the bit bucket.
