stating obvious for example. i know that i've been kicked from some fb groups just for trying to explain to people that they aren't right. one should never do that, no matter how wrong are ppl.

well, as much as i like to spit on fb privacy fuss... the truth is that you could actually delete your account for a long time now.

few months ago i did right that. ok, there wasn't a button, but if someone searched for something like, ummm, 'how to delete an account', he would get a link that would do just that among other answers.

and regarding the ability to remove slashdot account... someone wrote that user doesn't gain anything from removing slashdot account :)... while this might be true, it's simply silly... i don't want my nickname to hang around... maybe i have ppl that know me by my nickname... it might be a thousand things. if one can create it, he/she should be able to destroy it.

let's be honest, in that aspect is fb one step ahead.

Droid X Gets Rooted 97

An anonymous reader writes "The Droid X forums have posted a procedure to root the new Motorola Droid X, putting to rest Andoid fans' fears that they would never gain access to the device's secrets due to a reported eFuse that would brick the phone if certain boot files were tampered with. Rooting the phone is the first step in gaining complete control over the device."

Phew... I sincerely hope you're writing this as irony.

They found Iraq for totally different reasons. I live in Bosnia, and am almost everyday watching news about terrorist training camps in Bosnia. And US troops are here. Doing nothing about it.

Come on, it's just politics... Maybe Americans found Iraq after 9/11, but that's only because US gov pointed their finger over there... Average American could have found Iraq during primary school, if they actually cared enough to know.

What you just wrote is actually quite silly, and Neothermic's arguments holds, showing simply that you don't know what you're speaking.

Maybe you'll find this example more appropriate for your argument, supporting Neothermic: it may rain all over the world, except in the city you live. You'll have drought in your city.

And it's not nice to insult people. For your sake, also: rain = terrorism.

you know, it can't really be considered off topic if some group of people (or an individual) is such a moron(s). it should be considered as a general guideline address them in such a manner occasionally... like i do in slashdotusers case.

This is just plain old statistical data being misused and misinterpreted. At least, even if it's right, it's being used in a wrong way... Poor students might have spent more time learning hard in order to get better lives, while students from better schools (again, statistically speaking) were leading better and richer lives, paying less attention to boring stuff like math and more stuff to some more interesting subjects...
