Hey there. I just realized that I owe /. a correction. From what I'm hearing (reliable but non-public source) U.S. troops did indeed find and capture Saddam. Some of our "irregulars" did it in a way that does us all proud.
Yeah, I know that the mainstream press has now accepted that the Kurds actually found him and left him for us. From what I've heard, they're wrong.
Nice to have an example of our soldiers doing it right in Iraq, especially as they go *back* into Haiti AGAIN.

Wasn't capturing Saddam supposed to be the end of our troubles. After all, 9/11 was his fault? Right?

No, the only reason for this JE was that I was looking at some older JEs, saw that an earlier one contained something I now know to be a flat-out falsehood, so I thought I'ld drop in a quickie correction.

It's true, I actually had seen the friggin' link on the New York Times site but was in such a rush that I didn't click on it.
I have a disgusted suspicion that eventually I'm going to give in and resubscribe to the dead tree editions of several papers and magazines. Web editions are far better when I already know what I'm looking for and much worse for browsing.
