Please explain how "unpatched windows boxen" has anything to do with telnet explots on *nix machines? You probably can't since you appear to be just some script kiddie running their mouth. He has explained he has a closed lan, two machines, no connected to a wan. He uses telnet and you guys are jumping down his throat. If you wanted to exploit his network you need physical access, and physical access is 100x more dangerous than any exploit.
