    Leftists [enterstageright.com], Communists [msn.com], Islamists [emergency.com]... it's heartening to see people overcoming cultural differences for a common cause.

    I bet there are a lot of other things that protestors can get away with because of large groups that I'll have to allow.

      Y'know, I thought a little thing like "protected by the supreme law of the land" would be enough, rather than finding a prosecutor to file spurious charges.

      The proper response to desecration of a symbol*, btw, is to either work to correct the percieved flaw or to counter with a similarly symbolic act. I'd suggest organizing a prayer circle for "brotherhood among my countrymen" or a

      Eh? Typically (WTO protests aside) I've seen the police move pretty swiftly to arrest or at least detain anyone doing anything illegal at a protest.

      Now sometimes you have to let protesters do things your don't like but that is because what they are doing is perfectly legal and consitutionally protected.

  • It's like the first rule of talk radio - if someone wants to make a jackass out of themself, get out of their way. I am strongly against a flag burning amendment or any other such nonsense. However, that's the government side of things.

    That being said, I have little sympathy for a flag-burner who gets punched in the face. If a private citizen kicks the ass of an idiot burning a flag on Independence Day or shouting Neo-Nazi propaganda outside a synagogue, I think that's an example of the consequences of you
