Is it all of your friends or just a few of them? If it's not all of them, check the area between the "list all journal entries" link and the comment threshold area. This is where it will state if the journaler set restrictions on who can comment. (No Foes, Friends Only, Friends and Friends of Friends Only)
It could be that, although you have befriended them, they have yet to designate you as a friend, and they are using the comment limitations available to subscribers.
How were you able to post a comment? I am unable to find [edit/delete/0 comment] corner located at the right side of title, so simply I can't post a comment in all journals. I found who posted a comment by clicking search - journal - order by date, and I was able to reply your comment there. Do you have [edit/delete/0 comment] section in your journal?

How are you getting to the journals? I receive an email notification every time a friend creates a new journal. The link in the email brings me to the appropriate page with the appropriate buttons.

I cannot post a comment as it used to be and I'm not sure whether I can get the same scheme as before, probably we can one week ahead, if not one month ahead.
Right now general readers are hard to post a comment. Log-in use
