Journal mercedo's Journal: Slashdot; Near Future 2

Slashdot lost some of its important functions - one was entire list of journal entries of other users and the other was next five entries functions, as a result of this revisions, we can only see recent five journal entries of other slashdot users. I think it would be inevitable slashdot journal system be more independent than interdependent, which itself is not a bad idea. Anyway slashdot journal system will have been changing greatly.

Probably soon to come something like a statement that says 'Subscribers can view entire list of journal entries of all other slashdot users' or 'Subscribers can view entire list of journal entries of selected ten slashdot users' or 'selected five slashdot users' depending on the fee of service. For example,

list of journal entries of All slashdot users...$40 per year

list of journal entries of selected ten slashdot users...$25 per year

list of journal entries of selected five slashdot users...$15 per year.

I think this is not a bad service to pay for it. If we cannot get access to list of journal entries of other slashdot users, if we cannot get access to recent journal entries other othan most recent five entries, we will soon lose the integration we've been nourished over the years, slashdot ought to head for somewhere between 'too interdependent' and 'too independent'. That's what I think Slashdot; Near Future.

  • I suspect that is an accident of the upgrade: All Mercedo's Journals [slashdot.org]. My guess is that they accidentally left it off the stylesheet...
    • Thank you very much for the link, by using this address effectively I can evade inconvenience the new template brought for the moment.

Since old template was replaced I must say I feel much difficulty in reading someone's articles. If they were an accidentally left it off, I hope they are all restored soon. But I guess these changes are footsteps to e-books that important softwares are liable to be downloaded with some charge, and I think the idea itself is not a bad idea.

Never trust a computer you can't repair yourself.
