The most obvious problem of our planet is the whole quantity of water have never changed. It is time to consider saving the water in the form of solid state outside the planet, i.e., in space, the moon, the Mars, in order to regulate the whole quantity of water according to the temparature we have on the Earth.

We could end up preventing an ice age and instead of freezing or drowning we would melt .. well we could most likely survive an ice age quite happily due to modern technology ... but i don't know how we would cope if the temperature got up to 50/60+ .. though trying to create an atmosphere on the moon would be fun

In the end we are unable to solve the problem of our planet within it. It's not a fiction.

Global warming is occurring , and I'm willing to bet we had some part in speeding the process along.. though i believe it is mostly a natural occurrence.
What I'm not so sure about is if it will really be too much of a problem for us.
