If so many of these attacks are coming from home computers or company servers that have been compromised then we may be potentially waging war on ourselves rather then the enemy. Is Cyber Command going to actually take the time to investigate every single issue before firing? or are they going to stick to the proven method of "shoot first, ask questions later."

Does it worry anyone else that companies are paying outside entities to find bugs in software? Do these companies not have a software testing dept? Are the programmers simply not spending enough time trying to implement security? So many questions run through the mind when things like this pop-up. What do you guys think? should companies be paying outside entities for security or should they be spending more money to hire additional employees to do the work?

So does this all simply boil down to us being stupid, ignorant or a combination of both? I wish we could get in the heads of some of these individuals to find out what the heck they are thinking so we know when we should take away their computer and give them crayons to play with instead.

I must say that I like having a choice when it comes to AV software on any windows machine I work with. Having to be tied down to one product is not ideal nor helpful in my opinion. I understand microsoft is trying to make a living but they really don't care who they end up pissing off to get there. While we are at it can we have the windows firewall disabled by default too.

I think its funny that we would point out the fact that China is a major player in the chip business and that they may have probably bugged a chip or too, but we don't point out the fact that the NSA is probably being "generous" somewhere by making computers for fun and dropping them off at a local thrift store for some low income individual to snatch up and take it home. So if china is doing it to us, who is to say that we aren't doing it to ourselves......

At one point in time we were all very excited to see apple join the market and provide us with an amazing device that we have all drooled over. Now it appears that they want to cut out the middle man and go it alone. Is apple thinking about the customer or are they just trying to rule the world (not unlike microsoft) one piece at a time?

Stop using social networking sites. After all the reports of viruses, malware, etc... you think we would be smart enough to leave it well alone and actually go outside and have some REAL human interaction.

To be honest, this just confirms the simple fact that we aren't the only ones at the top of the totem pole. I don't think we give the rest of the world enough credit for their intelligence. Looks like China can kick our butts in karate and hacking.
