Journal leviramsey's Journal: Metamodding Over- and Underrated moderations

The biggest abuse in the Slashdot moderation system are the Overrated and Underrated mods. Why? Because users can hide behind this moderation without fear of metamoderation.

I imagine that the reason that these mods cannot be metamodded is that they're not specific (and they arguably are a form of metamod; they serve to reduce or increase the degree of prior moderation). Because they are so different from the other mods, it is difficult to metamod them.

Here is a suggestion as to how these mods can be meta-modded: display the post's score before the moderation, along with the fact that it was modded overrated or underrated. Since the over/under mod really is modding the score at the time of the moderation, this allows the moderation to be effectively metamodded.
